Crane Operators & Assistant Crane Operators required for work on Semi-Submersible, Platform & Jack-Up rigs in the North Sea. For the Crane Operator, candidates must hold a valid Stage 3 certificate; & for the Assistant Crane Operator applicants must hold a valid stage 2.

Crane Operator Duties:
Responsible to: Barge Supervisor/Night Barge Supervisor
Scope: The safe and efficient operation and maintenance of cranes and other lifting/hoisting equipment. The training and supervision of the Assistant Crane Operator and Roustabouts. To carry out duties as assigned by the Senior Toolpusher, Toolpusher or Senior Supervisor to the best of your ability and in such a manner as to not endanger oneself or anyone else who may be affected by your actions.
Responsibilities:
- Operate the cranes to load and unload supplies and equipment from supply boats
- Only permit the Assistant Crane Operator to operate the cranes, unsupervised when the required level of competency has been attained
- Carry out dailt inspection and maintenance of cranes and other lifting equipment. Check that all liftingappliances i.e. wire rope slings, shcakles etc are in serviceable condtion, fit for purpose and with appropriate colour coding
- Ensure that all deck and tool store areas are maintained in a clean, tiday and hazard free condtion
- Supervise the Roustabout crew in the required maintenance, lubrication, cleaning and painting of the unit and its equipment
- Supervise the cleaning, preparation and handling of tubulars and drilling tools. Supply the drill floor with tubulars, drilling tools and equipment as required.
- Liaise and co-operate with the Driller and Assistant Driller to ensure the safe and smooth running of operations. assign crew members to work in drilling department areas as required.
- Ensure that all containers, baskets, skips etc are correctly stowed and secured prior to lifting
- Give job instruction and training to crew members
- Bring to the attention of the on tour Toolpusher any occurence that may affect the safe and smooth running of operations
- Assist in the running and retrieval of BOP's and auxiliary equipment
Assistant Crane Operator Duties:
Immediate Supervisor: Crane Operator
Scope: Assist the Crane Operator in the supervision of the Roustabout crew, so as to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the unit. Carry out general duties as assigned by the Crane Operator and Senior Supervisor to the best of your ability and in such a manner so as not to endanger oneself or other persons who may be affected by your actions
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the cleaning, preraration and handling of tubulars and drilling tools. supply the drill floor with tubulars, drilling tools and equipment as required
- Assist on the drill floor as required
- Ensure that all containers, baskets, skips etc are correctly stowed and secured prior to lifting
- Assist the Crane Operator in the instruction and training of Roustabouts
- Assist third party personnel
